LATE ADDITION TO JUNE DIVING SCHEDULE
SOLO DIVING
JUNE 28
Our most requested class has been added to the June line-up. On Monday, June 28 we will be conducting a one day SOLO Class in Hoodsport. This class certifies you to dive alone - that great addition on your vacation so you don't have to be paired with a stranger while diving. In attending a class offered by SDI at the Tacoma Dive Expo we were reminded that we all dive solo at one time or another. You may have set out with a buddy but if that buddy strays off, even for just a few minutes, you are diving solo. If either of you are taking photos, you are diving solo when the attention is focused on that 'prefect shot.'
The Solo card is recognized by many dive operators and allows you to dive without being paired with another unknown diver. The course teaches safe diving habits. The diver is placed in scenarios they may come across if they are diving alone. They are then taught skills to safely return them to the surface. The course can be enjoyed by all levels of divers.
The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in solo diving activities.
Prerequisites are 100 logged dives and be at least 21 years of age. Cost is $250. For an additional $50, come up on Sunday, do some diving and stay at the Yellow House. Perfect get-away and come Monday you are ready for class!
